A first visit here is about an hour, and most of it is talking rather than drilling. Nothing gets treated on day one unless you are in pain and want it handled.
Before you arrive
We send one form. Fill it in at home if you like, or on paper at the desk. Bring your insurance card if you have one, and a list of any medications.
The appointment itself
- A look around. Teeth, gums, bite, jaw, and the soft tissue.
- X-rays only if we need them. If another office took some recently, we will ask for those first.
- Photos, if you want them. Some people would rather see the thing we are describing. Some would rather not. Both are fine.
- A cleaning, when there is time and your gums are ready for one.
Leaving with a plan
You leave with a written summary: what we saw, what needs doing now, what can wait, and what each part costs. If something can reasonably be watched instead of treated, we will say so.
Nothing on that plan is a commitment. Take it home, read it, call us with questions.
