The most common complaint about dentistry is not the needle. It is the bill arriving larger than the conversation suggested. Here is how we avoid that.
The quote comes first, in writing
Before any crown is started you get a written figure: the lab work, the chair time, and what your plan is expected to cover. If we cannot verify your coverage that day, we quote the full amount and tell you what the likely reduction is.
The two things that can change it
- What we find under the old filling. Occasionally a tooth needs more support than the outside suggested. We stop, show you, and re-quote before continuing.
- A choice you make. A different material, or a shade match across several teeth, changes the lab cost. That is your call, made with the price in front of you.
What we will not do
We will not start work and hand you a surprise. If the number moves, you hear it from us in the chair, before the next step, not from a statement three weeks later.
